Hello!
My name is Mandy and I am a Chemical and Biological Engineering student at Princeton University (United States of America). I want to be a bioengineer in the future, developing tools and treatments to improve public health. Besides my interest in bioengineering, I also enjoy learning new languages, playing my violin, cooking for friends and family, and figure skating.
Taiwan
Although I've lived in the U.S. for most of my life, my parents were born and raised in Taiwan, where I spent the first six years of my life.
Taiwan holds my fondest memories with my extended family and was where learned Mandarin and Taiwanese.
My Internship and Research Project
I write papers to inform more people about what synthetic cells are and how they can be applied to benefit society.

My Interests

Violin
After pestering my mom for 2 years, I was finally permitted to switch from piano to violin. While practicing may not always be fun and performances may not always go the way I want, I am always awed at music's ability to connect people. To me, the point of music is to share and enjoy with others.

Figure Skating
I have been skating since the age of 6 and have worked my way from local competitions to national competitions. Besides the thrill of competition, I appreciate the need for strength concealed in elegance associated with this sport and enjoy the feeling of freedom as I let the chill of the rink wash away my worries.
